In all seriousness, though, this post contains my goals for the new year.
No matter the source, I am not welcoming the unneeded stress in my life this year. Be it people, objects, activities, or whatever, I am removing it. Any source of frustration, like in the mornings when I can't decide what to wear, when people don't meet my expectations, when I can't find my car key, or excessive clutter, and clothes that don't fit or feel right. We all have people in our lives who generate frustration, who are overly negative, are never happy, or are never truly there. Get rid of it. I am determined to be more organized, pick out clothing options in advance, reduce clutter, lower my expectations of or remove certain people in my life, find a way to always know where my car key is 😣, get rid of clothing I am not comfortable in even if it's on trend or expensive.
This one is as cliché as cliché can be, but something I am truly motivated to do. Drinking water has to be the easiest thing to do, so why don't I do it? Stocking up on cute water bottles (like the S'well bottles I've mentioned before) and portable water bottles will make it easier to stay hydrated on the go and at work. Staying hydrated goes hand in hand with the second part of this resolution - being more active. I want to do more yoga, more spin classes, run more. I want to be able to put my palms flat on the floor when I do toe-touch stretches. Close each ring everyday....Apple Watch users, you know what I mean 😉.
3. Start setting monthly goals and to-do's.
Big or small, I want to start setting monthly goals. I feel better when I am organized and making lists helps to keep me organized. I want to post monthly goals or to-do's to help stay organized with what I want to accomplish. Anything from visiting a new place like a state park, or new restaurant, to buying a new wardrobe staple, trying something new (like hot yoga), cooking a new dish, anything and everything I will track.
Laziness mostly. 😕 I need to start taking care of my skin by creating skin care routines for morning and evening. This is the only skin I get, so I need to take better care of it. I have subscriptions to both Birchbox and Ipsy, yet I don't take advantage of the products all the time. I am bad about taking pictures of the contents (for instagram, of course) then stashing them away in my closet. When I have a little down time, I dig through them and try a mask or moisturizer, but don't really make a routine of anything. This year I will find products that I like and stick to a skin care routine!
I started this blog for force myself to be creative...I am not a creative person AT ALL, and also because I love reading other blogs like this one. This blog is supposed to help me keep track of myself - outfits, shopping, food, goals, etc. This year I will blog more to stay organized and to keep the creative juices flowing. Who knows, maybe one day this year I can actually start Vlogging! 😳
Happy New Year! Here's to an amazing 2016!
